The Book Of Ways
In Aberystwyth – lies a book so rare and potent that in esoteric circles it is known simply as the "Book of Ways." In a world where knowledge is power, one Book holds the key to forgotten truths. It waits on a dusty bookshop shelf, not for a buyer, but to choose a custodian – the next chosen one.

The Chela, the Monk and the Alchemist
"This Book Will Change Your Perception Of Reality"
A profound exploration of spiritual awakening, self-mastery, and the quiet power of inner wisdom.
Within these pages, ancient Eastern philosophies—including Zen and Advaita Vedanta—converge seamlessly with the timeless mental laws of The Kybalion. At its heart, this story reveals a liberating truth: that you are the architect of your own destiny, that 'All is Mind and Perception’. That whatever the mind can conceive and truly imagine, it has the power to bring into reality.
The story, in its soul-empowering wisdom, is about a young man named Billa and is set in the quiet Welsh valleys of Llanafon – where ancient Druid circles still whisper to the mist-shrouded ruins of medieval abbeys. In Aberystwyth – lies a book so rare and potent that in esoteric circles it is known simply as the "Book of Ways." It waits on a dusty bookshop shelf, not for a buyer, but to choose a custodian – the next chosen one.
The book’s return sets two ancient, secluded figures on an inevitable collision course. One is a Monk, seeking to find a chela to release him from the endless ‘Wheel of Suffering’. The other, an Alchemist, who yearns for a gifted apprentice to unlock the final secrets of his ‘Great Work’ and help him to transcend into a true Hermeticist.
When young Billa is chosen by the book, his life is irrevocably upended, plunging him into a hidden war of the spirit. As a chela, he is guided by the Monk who teaches him the profound depths of Zen and Vedantic disciplines, along with an aging Alchemist who teaches him the principles of the Kybalion. The inexperienced chela must learn to navigate a path where the lines between ancient wisdom and reality are blurred.
But light is not the only force awakening in the Welsh hills. Driven by a dark, consuming malice, Rhys draws near, wielding a corrupted power rooted in absolute greed, hatred and ambition. To survive the impending darkness, Billa and his mentors, must discover the ultimate truth: that the greatest power in the universe is not conquered by blade, but fought and won by the unyielding forces of love and magic.
In a world where knowledge is power, one Book holds the key to forgotten truths.
“We are travelers on a cosmic journey, stardust, swirling and dancing in the eddies and whirlpools of Infinity. Life is Eternal. But the expressions of life are ephemeral, momentary, transient. Gautama Buddha, the founder of Buddhism once said,
‘This existence of ours is as transient as autumn clouds. To watch the birth and death of beings is like looking at the movements of a dance. A lifetime is like a flash of lightning in the sky, rushing by like a torrent down a steep mountain.’
We have stopped for a moment to encounter each other, to meet, to love, to share. This is a precious moment, but it is transient. It is a little parenthesis in eternity. If we share with caring, lightheartedness, and love, we will create abundance and joy for each other. And then this moment will have been worthwhile.”
— Deepak Chopra, The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success.
About the Author
William Sinclair is an independent author, lifelong student of esoteric traditions, and holds a BSc (HONS) in Chemistry from the University of Southampton. This unique scientific foundation deeply informs his exploration of the unseen energies, mental discipline, and natural laws that drive his writing. Drawing inspiration from the rugged landscapes of Mid Wales—where ancient history and the quiet power of nature converge—his work bridges the gap between structured science and spiritual awakening.
Born in India, his roots are embedded in the eastern philosophies of the Adwaita Vedanta, Hinduism and Buddhism.
When he is not writing speculative fiction or practical guides on personal transformation, William can be found exploring old Welsh trails and studying classical philosophy. William is also fascinated by the eleven medieval Welsh prose tales known as The Mabinogion that has much influenced his writings.
